Written in a Gothic liturgical script by a single hand.

Decoration

Illuminated interlaced full border, with coat of arms which has been defaced, in rose, green, blue, and gold (f. 1r); illuminated initials (f. 14v, 24v, 36r); rubricated; alternating red and blue initials throughout.

1st work (f. 1r): Incipit prohemium de arte bene moriendi...Cum de presentis exilii miseria mortis transitus propter moriendi... Attributed to Matthew of Cracow by Zacour-Hirsch (note, p. 19), but this attribution is questioned by S. Clark.

3rd work (f. 14r): Incipit liber de miseria humane conditionis editus a Lothario dyacono Cardinali tituli sanctorum Sergii et Bachi. Qui postea Innocentius papa in appellatus est. Titulum autem opusculi portuensis episcopi est nomini dedicavit. Incipiunt capta euisdem libri. De miseria hominis...

4th work incipit (f. 42v): XV signa ante seculi consumationem fienda. Verse, derived from the version found in Voragine, Legenda aurea (according to S. Clark).

5th work incipit: Altercatio animae et corporis revelata ciudam devoto compilata per beatum Bernardum. Incipit vir quidam dum steterat velud heremita [variant of Walther 20421], f. 44r.

2nd work (f. 14r): Ex legenda sancti Bernardi. Infirmatus aliquando vir dei Bernardus cum... From Jacobus de Voragine, according to S. Clark.
